Privacy Policy
At Wadiget we respect your privacy. The app works without an account or sign-in, and we do not collect any information that personally identifies you. This page explains the small amount of data the app uses, why, and how it is handled.
Data we collect
- Anonymous install ID: a random number (UUID) generated once on your device. It is not linked to your name, email, or phone number and cannot identify you — it only distinguishes one installation.
- Anonymous usage statistics: general events such as opening the app, adding a widget, or downloading a wallpaper, plus technical device info (device model, OS version, app version, and the language/country from your device settings). This helps us understand which features are used.
- Crash reports: when an error occurs, we send the error message, technical details (stack trace), and device model to fix the problem.
- Location (optional): if you enable prayer times or the weather widget, the app uses your location to calculate them. Prayer times are computed on your device. To fetch weather, your coordinates (latitude/longitude) are sent to a trusted third-party weather service for that purpose only.
- Contact messages (optional): if you message us via “Contact us”, we receive your message text and the email you provide (if any), solely to reply to you.
What we do not collect
- We do not collect your name, contacts, photos, or files.
- We do not collect any financial or health data.
- We do not use an advertising ID, show ads, or track you across apps.
Who we share data with
We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers. Data only passes through the service providers needed to run the app:
- Our backend servers — receive anonymous statistics, crash reports, and contact messages, and provide the widget and wallpaper catalog.
- A third-party weather service — receives location coordinates to return current weather (only when the weather widget is enabled).
All data is transmitted over an encrypted connection (HTTPS).
Location permission
The location permission is entirely optional and is only requested when you enable prayer times or add a weather/prayer widget. You can decline or revoke it any time in your device settings; the app then uses a default location (Cairo) or leaves weather data blank.
Data retention & deletion
We retain anonymous statistics and crash reports only as long as needed to improve the app. Since there is no account, deleting the app stops any new data collection. To request deletion of data tied to your device’s install ID, contact us at the email below.
Children
The app is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top will change, and we recommend reviewing it periodically.
